Hawzah News Agency- a scientific meeting titled "If Christ Were Among Us" was held on the subject of the Supreme Leader's statements entitled "If Christ Were Among Us", which was presented to Pope Francis during a meeting by Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hossein Mokhtari, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Vatican, on January 2, 2025.
The meeting, which was attended by a group of students and professors of the Qom Seminary by the Urwa Al-Wuthqa International Research Institute in cooperation with the Islamic Revolution Cultural Research Institute in Qom, was attended by Hujjat al-Islam Mohsen Qanbari, Deputy Director of Communications and International Affairs of Al-Mustafa International University, Dr. Kamal Akbari, Dean of the Faculty of Religion and Media, and Dr. Elisabetta Mijano, researcher and author from Italy, who reviewed and explained the selected statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution about Jesus Christ (PBUH) to Pope Francis by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Vatican.
At the beginning of the meeting, Hujjat al-Islam Jalal Iraqi, researcher at the Urwa Al-Wuthqa International Research Institute and secretary of the event explained the philosophy of holding this meeting and emphasized the necessity of interfaith dialogue to respond to present needs of humanity in order to establish peace in the world and move towards human happiness.
The role of cultural diplomacy and the media in promoting human values and world peace
Dr. Kamal Akbari, Head of the Faculty of Religion and Media of the Iranian Broadcasting Organization, emphasized the importance of the Supreme Leader's message to Pope Francis and said,” This message acts as a bridge to strengthen international and interfaith relations, especially with the Christian world. Cultural diplomacy and the media can help create mutual understanding and confront radical ideas by promoting human and moral values. They also emphasized the role of the media in reflecting human realities and supporting the oppressed, especially in crises such as in Gaza. If Christ were among us today, he would have wanted the media to serve truth, justice, and peace.”
